This girl is the sweetest person we have ever encountered. We are her parents, so we are duty-bound, but we honestly can't believe how much she has changed our hearts. Who knew you could be so wrapped up in the happiness of one little person? Brad and I have said if she is the only child we get to have, we feel so blessed and happy.
On Jane's birthday this year I read my journal from last year, in the weeks before her birth, and the weeks following her birth. I can still feel that anticipation of the 'date-with-destiny', knowing you life is about to change more than ever before, but you're not quite sure just what the impact will be. It was a very spiritual time too, I remember feeling so much love and support on my behalf.
Ok, ok ... here are the photos. First up, her birthday lunch with Dad on campus. Not pictured : the two homeless men that joined the party, offering some Shania Twain on their am/fm alarm clock radio. Second, her first gift, the bike 'hat' followed by her first bike ride. She knew just what to do with it since she has seen Brad ride off to school each day. Her helmet is so giant on her head its adorable.
Next up: Her two-layer carrot cake which she loved. Brad and I grabbed forks and started working on the opposite side. (My sister Tracie made the fabric banner).
Finally, the loved her presents, the wheely bug is from G&G Samuelson, and she also got a bitty baby from G&G Skousen which she adores.
